Deirdre Darragh is the manager of communication and engagement at the Penn Medicine Center for Health Care Innovation.
In this role, Deirdre develops and implements strategies for growing and strengthening strategic engagement initiatives, such as the Center's Innovation Accelerator Program, and manages and evaluates communication efforts to position the Center as a leader in health care innovation.
Prior to joining the Center, Deirdre was the manager of media relations for the School District of Philadelphia, where she developed and implemented strategic communication plans to increase public awareness for important initiatives, managed media inquiries from local and national outlets, supported public outreach efforts to key stakeholders, and managed the district’s online and social media platforms.
Prior to attending graduate school, Deirdre worked as a brand marketing intern at Under Armour, where she assisted with operations, event planning and marketing. Deirdre’s experience has developed her expertise in strategic planning and public relations, crisis management, media relations, social media, and writing.
Deirdre holds her master’s degree in strategic communication from Villanova University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from Loyola University of Maryland and studied public relations and journalism at the Richmond American University in London.
