Emily Kramer-Golinkoff MBE

Manager of Strategic Initiatives and Operations

Emily Kramer-Golinkoff is the manager of strategic initiatives and operations at the Penn Social Media and Health Innovation Lab.  Prior to this role, Emily worked as a project manager for the lab, and a social media and video production specialist in the web division of strategic marketing services at Penn Medicine.

Emily completed her master's degree in bioethics and certification in clinical ethics mediation at the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. In 2007, she graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School for Communication, where she received the Honorable Walter H. Annenberg Award.

Emily is a recognized leader in the health care social media community, with particular interest in online patient communities, crowdfunding, peer-to-peer health and care, participatory medicine and research, patient empowerment, and social media activism. She is also a co-founder of Emily's Entourage, a 501(c)3 that raises funds and awareness to accelerate new treatments and a cure for rare mutations of Cystic Fibrosis.

Emily has given talks at TEDx, ONC Consumer Health IT Summit, University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication graduation, Tulane University, and Stanford University’s School of Medicine and Medicine X Conference, where she also was an ePatient scholar. She serves as a consultant and committee member for various strategic initiatives at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on a volunteer basis, and on the board and as a member of other nonprofit and socially-minded organizations.
