The service design summer internship offers students an opportunity to apply design methodologies in complex clinical settings. To start, interns participate in a two-week design sprint to learn about the center’s methods. Mentors guide interns as they move through the sprint, and at the end of two weeks, the group presents their work to clinical partners. Following the design sprint, interns learn about ongoing work at the center and select a project to work on for the remainder of the internship. Interns are considered co-equal members of the project team, and have the opportunity to make valuable contributions.
Who should apply?
Students and/or professionals with experience in service design, product design, user experience design, user interface design, or related fields. Experience in the health care field is a plus, but not a requirement.
We are looking for passionate students who can commit 20-40 hours per week.
Internships run for 10-12 weeks from late May to August depending on intern availability.
This is a paid internship.
