Emily Vail is an active scholar in the T-GAPP program. She graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed an anesthesiology residency and critical care fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. She also holds a master's degree in patient-oriented research from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Vail's research focuses on the health care system responsible for identification and management of deceased organ donors. She has used quantitative and qualitative methods to examine the role of anesthesiologists in organ recovery procedures and to understand how centralization of organ donor care affects clinical donor management and donation and transplantation outcomes.
