Incorporating remote monitoring data, such as physical activity and sleep data, from discharged patients can enhance predictions of 30-day hospital readmissions, especially when paired with machine learning regression. Researchers of the PREDICT trial found that models that used data from wearable devices slightly outperformed those using smartphone data, but both led to good prediction.
